Our Approach
The SurgiCenter of Baltimore's mission is to be the leading provider of ambulatory health care in the Baltimore metropolitan area. We provide high quality patient care in a fiscally responsible manner and in a warm, caring, friendly setting for patients, families, physicians and staff.
Delivering health care in accordance with our high standards of excellence requires us to be sensitive to the needs of our patients and their families. We provide economical, state-of-the-art technology, comfortable surroundings and health care professionals who are skilled, knowledgeable, caring and sensitive to human needs.
The patient is an individual with unique concerns, anxieties and needs. Therefore, our focus is the patient. We also know that one of the most important factors in the care process is the support of the family - those people who both cherish the patient and share in the anxiety and relief of recovery. We also believe that providing skilled support to our physicians facilitates the best and more effective care process for our patients.
Our Center
Opened in 1989, the SurgiCenter of Baltimore is designed with both patients and medical staff in mind. The 11,500-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art testing and surgical equipment, seven pre-operative admission bays, five operating suites, two procedure rooms and seven recovery beds. As a non-emergency, pre-scheduled ambulatory surgery center, patients do not stay overnight.
Our doctors use the most up-to-date diagnostic and surgical technology and equipment. Our full staff complement of 27 professionals includes highly experienced and trained nurses, technicians and specialists. All of our employees meet stringent written and hands-on job competency requirements, as well as validation and verification of all certifications and licenses.
Throughout all procedures, our nursing staff carefully monitors each patient to ensure that comfort, safety and medical needs are met. All patients receive specific discharge instructions before they leave. And as part of our comprehensive care, our staff follows up with patients a few days after their discharge to check on their condition.
The SurgiCenter of Baltimore is fully licensed and certified with the state of Maryland as an Ambulatory Surgery Center, is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and is certified by Medicare. The center is open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The building offers plenty of free parking in front of the building, including designated handicapped spaces. The SurgiCenter of Baltimore is a non-smoking facility.
The SurgiCenter of Baltimore is a joint venture of area health specialists, LifeBridge Health and HealthMark Partners, Inc. Based in Nashville, TN, HealthMark works with physicians and hospitals that represent the best surgeons in the community. Because HealthMark facilities are focused on a specific scope of services, doctors are able to provide their patients with the highest quality of care in the most efficient setting available.
