Services at the SurgiCenter of Baltimore are many. The multi-specialty center provides diagnostic testing and surgical procedures including the following:
- General surgeries to repair hernias and to remove gall bladders, biopsies, skin lesions, abnormal lumps and tissues
- Specialty surgeries including ENT (sinus surgery, septoplasty), GYN (tubal ligations),and port removal for chemotherapy patients
- Comprehensive pain management treatment for chronic pain associated with injuries or diseases
- Gastroenterology preventive tests, such as colonoscopies and upper GIs, to determine certain diseases of the gastrointestinal tract
- Orthopedic surgery to repair injured joints and fractures
- Ophthalmology surgery to remove cataracts and repair weak eye muscles
- Podiatry to correct hammertoes and remove bunions
- Pediatric surgery including ENT (insertion of ear tubes, and removal of tonsils and adenoids)
- Cosmetic surgery, including facial and reconstructive surgery, liposuction, eyelid surgery, and breast reduction or enhancement
While patients are being seen by medical staff, family members are encouraged to wait in the center’s reception area. Following the procedure, patients are taken to the recovery room. When ready, the family is called back to speak with the doctor regarding the procedure and discharge instructions and to sit with the patient.
